TSL Reader’s poem

I’ll be completely honest with you folks, this has been one of the most amazing things happened on The Somber Lane page!
I had posted a small feature about Alda‘s “Tearing of the Weave“, when, our sharp and brilliant reader, Jeff Wiggins, wrote these stunning verses. Now, I don’t know anything about poetry but I’m loving this one … maybe, also because our beloved sneaked in also our blog name.
So, thank you so very much Jeff, and …

Please enjoy!

We weep evaporating tears of “somber” joy…
over false promise of yon tomorrow…
Yet wept tears of darted sorrow…
after the race was run…

How could we not have known…
How could it be we refused to see…
If only we had been peeking…
oh the things we might have believed…

Revealed instead…by the sinister nature of the game…
so willingly left up to others…in twisted fashion to perceive…

Children born of our own calamity…
Thus slave to our final destiny…indeed
