Dec. 14, 2016: Just two weeks shy of Christmas Day, Boston singer songwriter Jeff Michaels is spreading holiday cheer through the endearing new song “Green ‘N Red,” along with the accompanying animated video. The video features an array of characters, including partying penguins, a bass-playing snowman, and of course the Big Man in Red himself, and his loyal herd of reindeer.
Speaking about the track Michaels says, “One of the things I’ve learned time and time again is that music has the ability to heal, and this year it seems our little country needs a lot of healing. No matter what side of the political spectrum you are on, November was tough for all of us. Facebook and Twitter turned into a war zone, with strangers yelling at each other and a lot of people forgot that we’re all in this together… it’s time we get the Green n’ Red out and put those memories behind us, and look for a brighter 2017!”
“Green ‘n Red” is exactly the kind of song you’d expect to hear in a feel-good holiday movie, with beautiful lyrics covered in Christmas glow, and a sound that’s filled with holiday merriment. You can grab a free download of the song right here and spread a bit of cheer yourself this holiday season.
“Green ‘n Red” follows as Michaels’ annual Christmas release, succeeding tracks such as “Hey Santa (Bring Me Some Lovin’),” “Ain’t No Snow Like Christmas Snow,” as well as the satirical tracks “Fiscal Cliff,” and “If Donald Trump Were President,” under the moniker Johnny Fiscal. Each video features the same brilliant creativity as “Green ‘n Red,” proving Michaels to be not only handy with spreading holiday cheer—but a remarkable musician that’s here to stay.
Michaels is also the artist behind last year’s album, ‘Townie Paradise’, and has seen song placements in episodes of “The Real World” and “Teen Mom” (MTV) and the “T.O. Show” (VH1).
